5 hockey camps in 5 different locations in 3 provinces in 6 weeks ... worth it?
ABSOLUTELY!
Was all the time and effort spent from January to July in prep worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
Now that the summer comes to a close and we look over the "hockey camp season" it is so mind boggling to see how God has used hockey to impact hundreds of kids for Christ. So much to praise God for. God provided for health and safety. One example of God's hand was in Winkler. Justin, an assistant instructor was demonstrating a skating drill. He is a big, strapping , Junior A hockey player and is a fast skater. At the end of his demo, he tripped, at full speed and went head first into the boards before hitting the ice. I am thinking, crushed head, broken neck or spine. Justin gets up with a smile and NO EFFECTS FROM HIS FALL. He wasn't even sore. This was completely of God, no other reason. He should have been taken off on a stretcher.
At these hockey camps we endeavor to combine a quality hockey and dryland program with an opportunity for the campers to hear about God's love in Chapel and team talks, all the while experiencing His love thru the many coaches and counselors. We believe this offers kids a unique blend of improving their hockey skills and hearing about God's love for them while having a blast.
We are already looking forward to the next "hockey camp season" in Summer 2008.

Glen had a great time joining the team at Winkler Bible Camp Hockey Camp as Head Coach. They had 4 groups with over 100 campers in total. 12 hour days at the rink were tiring but amazingly rewarding watching the campers improve their hockey skills and dig deeper into their faith with their Creator. Once again, Glen was so impressed with those who he was privileged to work with.
Here we have, from left to right, Kevin, Glen, Jeremy, and Justin. Great job guys! Thanks to Winkler Bible Camp for having me again.

We are in the sunny Okanagan this week in Westside - Kelowna. We are so excited about our team for this camp - top notch instructors and counselors. The campers have been lots of fun. They are working hard - going home very tired at night. We are doing a power skating clinic at this camp and it's so fun to see the little guys and gals really working hard on the ice. They are from 5 to 8 years old, some heading into hockey for the first time. They just can't wait to get on the ice!

This week we partnered with Athletes in Action at a camp in Langley. Glen and the gals stayed out at Trinity Western with the campers - 28 guys and one girl. They were an excellent group of kids.We also loved working with the AIA staff. Missing from the picture are Clarke -dryland guy and counsellor, and Johnny Mo - camp speaker. He was so excited and enthusiastic - he did an amazing job. We are trusting the campers will take to heart the great truths they were challenged with this week.

We have been so excited to see how all of our instructors and counsellors have totally given of themselves to work at the camps. Each of them have volunteered their time and poured themselves into the campers. Melanie here, has pretty much given up her summer to work with us and has done an amazing job. Next week she will travel to Calgary for a evaluation camp with SAIT's Women's hockey team and then she will be back working at AIA's camp in Chemanius. It has been a real treat to work with her. Great job Mel!
